Happy Birfday Amurrrrrrica!!

When its somebody’s birthday you celebrate… and that was essentially the theme of the weekend:  celebration.

We kicked things off on Thursday evening for a Beehunt’s pre-birthday celebration.  Pitchers at Pyramid lead to Zya Daquiri’s at Kona, and ultimately Blackout Town, Population: Beehunt.  I’m pretty sure that my favorite shenanagans of the night were where Bee & Stillings went missing for a couple of hours only to find they had taken off to Adesso, and were evading some Bobcats who were smitten by their charm.  Heh… Bobcats… apparently thats the word for a Cougar who’s under the age of 40.  Nice one Bee.

Ummmm on to Friday.  Friday was an AMAZING day!!  Had a bit of a girl’s retreat with Tori, Ashley & Carrie.  We headed over to Corte Madera to pick up Tori’s car from the shop, and then from there we headed west to Bolinas, CA.

If you’ve never heard of Bolinas, don’t feel bad, because unless you know how to get there you won’t.  Legend has it that it used to be a hippie retreat, and when the state of California started putting up road signs for travelers the residents started tearing them down.  Its a pretty cute place though… reminds me of Stinson Beach, yet, smaller (if you can believe that is possible!).  Once we found a miracle parking spot, we dragged our stuff to the beach and proceeded to have a wonderfully lazy, champagne-filled day.  Ashley and I girl-talked, and spied on man candy while Tori & Carrie took to the task of creating a giant sand turtle.  There were dogs everywhere, and once the sun finally started peeking out behind the clouds it was a fantastic day.

Saturday was a little more busy.  After having a yummy BBQ with some of my favorite Natives, I headed up North to visit the family.  Aunties & cousins were in town from Seattle, so we stole a few beers from Grandma’s fridge and headed out to watch the fireworks.  We had a great view, and surprisingly, the fireworks were pretty cool as well!  Not bad for little ‘ole Redding.
